Rough Passage. Maybe 700+ nm in 5 or so days. We did have a 200 nm day as we rode the Gulf Stream and a 24-hr average speed of 8.8 knots. However, a low pressure system moved in faster than predicted, and we were caught in a gale. We decided to deploy our Fiorentino para-anchor. When it broke, we decided to heave-to in a gale (steady at 43 knots) that at times was a Violent Storm (max wind speed 57 knots - every 15 minutes it would blow over 50 kts for a few minutes -- this lasted about 9 hours!) No fun. But then -- Bermuda!
