Murky waters

Recently Mel has been navigating the murky waters of boating-related apps to help her learn navigation and chart reading.  It has been…amusing.  The sailing industry seems to have just discovered tablets and how to program for them.  This was surprising to discover.  After all, we have been using a variety of sophisticated apps for flying for years now, and we took high quality charting for granted.  It can mean life or death.  I guess there is less pressure to develop reliable, functional software when you are going 5 knots instead of 150.

That is exactly what Mel is trying to allow her mind to do.  Go 5 knots instead of 150.  But that is easier said than done.  I mean, what is the point of that noise, people?? That is the sound of one less second of my life happening!  Ugh!
